LONDON, Ky. (AP) -- A southern Kentucky man has been a jailed on charges that he threatened a witness in a criminal case.
Laurel County Sheriff John Root says 34-year-old James A. Messer approached the witness in a drug trafficking case against him and issued threats on Monday night near London.
Root says Messer made the threats not long after bonding out of jail on the drug charges.
Messer, who lives in London, faces a charge of Intimidating a participant in the legal process, and terroristic threatening. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Facility.
Jail records did not list an attorney for Messer.
