LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Authorities say a Lee County woman has been charged with killing her husband.
Kentucky State Police arrested Madeline Lykins around noon on Saturday after investigators said she shot Rex Lykins multiple times at their home around 11 p.m. on Friday.
Lykins is charged with murder/domestic violence and tampering with physical evidence.
Police have not revealed a motive for the shooting. Family members said the couple had been married 15 years.
Johnny Mann, Madeline Lykins' brother, said it's hard to believe anyone would want to kill his brother-in-law.
"Never heard him have an ill word with my sister," Mann said. "If the man had any enemies, I don't know who it could have been because he was one of the humblest, one of the best men you'll ever meet."
An officer at the Three Forks Regional Jail told The Associated Press on Sunday that Lykins is being held on $750,000 bond.
