Warren County took time Friday to remember Pearl Harbor.
Judge Executive Mike Buchanon presented the Legion of Honor Award to Charles Reece in Warren County Fiscal Court.
Reece, a World War II veteran, who like many service men and women endured some of the worst conditions during the war.
The award, which comes from France, is among one of the highest honors from the French government.
Reece says the recognition on Friday was very overwhelming.
"Well I was shocked when I got the notice I got the award but then it kinda escalated. I had no idea it would be anything like this, all the people here, but I'm proud of it," says Reece.
Dozens of Charles' family and friends were on hand for the award, which Reece says was the most rewarding part.
