LEXINGTON, Ky. (WBKO) -- We have an update on the arrest of the owners of several Lexington area Subway restaurants and their employees last month. There has been an additional arrest plus court documents are revealing more about their charges.
Amrutlal Patel and his wife were arrested in November on federal charges. New court documents show they have been charged with bringing in and harboring aliens and were forcing four undocumented Indian citizens to work for them.
They also housed some of the aliens in a hidden room located in their home. Three of those subway employees have been arrested and turned over to immigration.
Police started investigating the Patels back in August.
