WBKO spoke with the Superintendent of Bowling Green Independent Schools Joe Tinius about safety precautions the district has in place after the tragic shooting in Connecticut.

He says they take safety very seriously and already had discussed Friday if there are any improvements they can make.

"All of our schools during the school day only have one means of entrance, one door that is unlocked for individuals to enter the building and that door leads directly into the front office and receptionist area," says Tinius.

We also spoke with Warren County Public Schools who say they follow the same procedures as well as everyone is required to wear a photo ID, volunteers undergo background checks, and emergency drills are conducted throughout the year.
