The Natcher expansion project will be complete by November.

That's good news for drivers, but what about businesses?

So far Keystop manager Frank Armstrong is optimistic.

"In the 8 years I've been here, it's the same people coming in every single day or at least sometimes a week, very, very loyal customer base," says Armstrong.

And right up the road, Crossroads IGA manager Bobby Dodge agrees that the customers will keep coming.

"What it's going to help are the people of Alvaton and Plano, actually the congestion on Scottsville Road of course is terrible, it's gonna relieve it on this end, but they're still gonna come here to do their shopping or what not, so we don't expect anything negative at all from it," says Dodge.

"This is one of the last places they can buy beer. So we do a lot of beer, a lot of cigarettes, so they may take the by-pass one day, next day they'll stop by here, I really don't think it will have a major impact," says Armstrong.

And the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet agrees with businesses.

"I don't think so, I think basically, it's just gonna help people who are basically forced to use Scottsville Road to get where they need to go in other parts of the county or in the city. I think now they'll be able to skirt around using the Natcher parkway extension, that will divert a lot of pass through traffic if you will off Scottsville Road," says Transportation Cabinet Officer Keirsten Jaggers.

One thing that both drivers and businesses are ready for is the end to congestion and traffic headaches.

"Anything to relieve the congestion, I think is gonna be a god-send to everybody out here," says Dodge.

Jaggers says even though the parkway appears to be already completed, there is still much work to be done over the next month, such as painting the roadway and adding traffic signs.
