It was a wet and enjoyable time this 4th of July for many families at Beech Bend Amusement Park. The park expects 4,000 guests Wednesday and more throughout the holiday weekend. To celebrate, the park has a special attraction for guests.
"This week, all week long through Sunday, we got the Kent Family Magical Circus performing here 3 times a day. They are a great family we bring them in from California and they do really neat stuff like juggling, unicycling, and fire eating and bullwhip tricks," says Park Manager Charlotte Gonzalez.
Suzie Webb brought her family from Tennessee to cool off and enjoy the sights and sounds of the park.
"We brought the children out to play and enjoy the sun and the water and just fellowship and enjoy time with one another," says Webb.
Webb says there is no other place she would rather be on this 4th of July.
"There is not a whole lot of other things to stay cool on the 4th of July other than water or inside," says Webb.
But while staying cool and soaking up the sun, Webb doesn't want to forget our military on this Independence Day.
"Saying thanks to our fellow soldiers, the ones that fought for our freedom, the ones who have been in our military. Just being able to say thanks to them," says Webb.
A member of our armed forces was also out enjoying Beech Bend who says the fourth reminds him of the freedom he has in America.
"It means that I can choose whatever job I want, and it means that I can wear what I want, say what I want. Where ever I want," says James Thomas Latham.
Management at Beech Bend expects the remainder of the week to be busy because the 4th of July fell on a Wednesday this year.
