Many, who are looking to buy a home, flocked to open houses Sunday, as part of National Open House Weekend.
Some of them checked out a house along Kenilwood Way in Bowling Green.
The Realtor ® Association of Southern Kentucky, Inc. says home sales are up in the area.
They say Warren County alone saw a one percent increase in home sales in March, compared to February.
Some people are taking advantage of the historic low mortgage interest rates of 3.9 percent.
"It was a great time to look at a new home, we're looking for something a little larger and we felt like the market was the perfect time, with the prices being at a good level. The interest rates also played a big factor into that. We know it's a great time to get a low interest rate so it definitely weighed into our decision," says Andrew Page, who is looking to buy a house with his wife.
Steve Davis, the President of the Realtor ® Association of Southern Kentucky, Inc., says home sales are also up one percent from this time last year.
Davis, who is a realtor at Crye-Leike Executive Realty, also says houses are typically on the market for 140 days, which is also several days lower compared to a year ago.
