Logan County is celebrating yet another addition to highway 68-80.

The East Logan Water District has added a water line along the highway stretching from Auburn to the Warren County line.

A ribbon-cutting was held today and water flowed for the first time from a fire hydrant along the highway.

Executive Director of Economic Development, Tom Harned says the water line is another step toward expanding Logan County, and creating more jobs.

"We want jobs for this part of Logan County and for this part of our region so water and have adequate supplies of water is a very big deal in the economic development world," Harned says.

"Our number one goal is to get water to all of the people in our district. And we've pretty much done that, but we are going to try and expand some more," says East Logan Water District Board Chairman, Bill Stokes.

The new water line gives the East Logan Water District the ability to deliver more than 3 million gallons of treated water-per-day to areas of Logan, Simpson and Warren Counties.
