METCALFE COUNTY, Ky. -- As of 9:35 PM, the road is open and detour is discontinued.
METCALFE COUNTY, Ky. -- The Kentucky State Police CVE section says it is currently investigating an injury collision that occurred on Monday just after 9:00 AM CST.
They says an eight-wheel crane truck overturned at the 34 MM of the Louie B. Nunn Parkway.
Both eastbound lanes are closed.
Eastbound motorists are to exit at the Edmonton Exit #27, travel east on KY 80, and re-enter the Parkway in Columbia at Exit #46.
Westbound traffic at the 34 is limited to one passable lane.
A crane is on-site to begin the upright process of the overturned crane.
Estimated time for this leg of the cleanup process is 3-4 hours, then preparation will take place for a large low-boy from Louisville to remove the overturned unit.
Estimated total recovery and removal is 4-5 hours.
Afterward, repairs will take place on the road surface which will take additional time after the vehicle is removed.
Westbound motorists are encouraged to use caution as they enter the one lane traffic area.
The road will remain closed for undetermined amount of time.
