LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A Jefferson County jury has acquitted a man in the death of a man whose body was found buried in his basement.
WAVE-TV reported the not guilty verdict was returned in the murder case against Jeffery Mundt, who was also charged with evidence tampering and robbery.
Police found the body of Jamie Carroll after arresting Mundt's then- boyfriend Joseph Banis in a domestic disturbance.
Banis was convicted in March of Carroll's murder. In a sentence agreement, Banis received the possibility of eventual parole for testifying against Mundt.
Both men implicated the other in Carroll's killing.
