LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- A Louisville Metro police officer conducting a routine traffic stop found a man bound and gagged in the trunk of the car he pulled over.
Police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley told The Courier-Journal (http://cjky.it/QTWxOV) that man said he was working at a gas station when he was overpowered and forced into the trunk of his car.
An officer pulled the vehicle over at about 3:30 a.m. on Saturday and heard banging coming from the trunk of the car. He called for backup and discovered the victim.
Smiley said the man, whom she did not identify, was taken to the hospital for observation.
Brittany Elder, Trent Blye and Joseph Davis were charged with kidnapping, wanton endangerment and theft of the victim's car.
Officials had no record of an attorney for the suspects.
