Monroe County High School's library has been awarded a youth literacy grant by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
Monroe County High was granted $1,500.
The grants are awarded annually in August to have an impact on reading education and support.
The grants are awarded to assist with new or expanding youth reading programs, to purchase new technology to support youth reading, or purchase books.
The foundation awarded grants totaling more than $2 million to 564 groups throughout the U.S.
