A western Kentucky man has been air-lifted to a hospital after being hit by a train.
Madisonville police say 32-year-old Matthew Edwards was on the railroad tracks Sunday morning as a CSX train approached. A police report says Edwards attempted to move away, but wasn't able to clear the tracks in time and was struck.
He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, then air-lifted to St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Ind. Police said the extent of his injuries was unknown.
CSX is investigating.
