PIKEVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- An eastern Kentucky man charged with murder after police unearthed remains on his property has entered a not guilty plea.
The Appalachian News-Express reports (http://bit.ly/Pk33hx ) that 52-year-old Bruce Dillon entered the plea Monday in Pike County District Court and was ordered held without bond.
Police say the remains found Friday in a small freezer are believed to be those of his missing wife, Sherry Dillon, who was last seen on July 7. Police say they hope to get an official identification this week.
The newspaper cited court records in reporting that the couple had a history of domestic violence. According to those records, Sherry Dillon took out emergency protective orders in 2009 and 2011, but in both instances chose to have the orders terminated.
