LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- A Louisville man has been sentenced to 25 years in state prison after entering a plea in the 2010 death of a Sullivan University student.

The Courier-Journal reported that Gregory O'Bryan entered an Alford plea to murder on Monday in Jefferson Circuit Court. An Alford plea means O'Bryan acknowledges enough evidence exists to convict him, even though he doesn't admit his guilt.

The plea closes the legal proceedings related to the death of 18-year-old Andrew Compton of Carmel, Ind. Compton has not been seen since Oct. 28, 2010.

O'Bryan has said the teen died during consensual sex between the two and he put the body in a garbage bin.

Police tracked the contents of the garbage bin to a landfill and searched unsuccessfully for the body for 10 days.
