State police say a southeastern Kentucky man who was shot by officers during a standoff earlier this month has been charged with killing his wife.
Trooper Don Trosper told The Commonwealth Journal that 52-year-old Timmy K. Hislope is charged with murder-domestic violence and three counts of wanton endangerment involving a police officer.
Kentucky State Police were called to the couple's home in the Nancy community of Somerset on Aug. 9. They say Hislope fatally shot his 44-year-old wife, Mary Amanda Hislope, at their home, and then had a short standoff with officers before pointing his gun in their direction. An officer shot him, and he was taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment.
It was unclear Monday whether Hislope had an attorney.
