Harmon said it appears that Marks unsuccessfully tried to drive through the water, and then tried to walk through it.

A western Kentucky man is dead after his vehicle apparently stalled in flood waters.

Henderson County Deputy Terry Harmon told The Gleaner that he found the body of 70-year-old Melvin Duane Marks on Sunday during routine patrol on the roadway. He said a rescue squad was called out to the area on Friday when someone reported seeing a truck in floodwaters with the driver's side door open. He said workers searched, but did not find anyone.

Harmon said it appears that Marks unsuccessfully tried to drive through the water, and then tried to walk through it. Most of his body was still covered by water when he was found.

The Western Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville performed an autopsy Monday, but Deputy Coroner Ray Farmer said Tuesday that he was still waiting on the report.
