McConnell, Paul To Team Up For Massie Fundraiser

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Republican congressional candidate Thomas Massie will get fundraising help from Kentucky's two U.S. senators later this month.

Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul will appear at a fundraiser at Harmony Landing Country Club in Oldham County on Aug. 21.

Massie, a tea party favorite, is running for an open congressional seat in the 4th District against Democrat Bill Adkins, a lawyer from northern Kentucky. Former U.S. Rep. Geoff Davis resigned on Tuesday, citing a family health issue. He had already taken himself out of the running for re-election.

McConnell and Paul also will make an appearance on Aug. 21 at the state Capitol where they are expected to call for repeal of federal healthcare reforms.
