Medical Center Receives Innovative Equipment

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- The Bowling Green Medical Center will soon be using a new piece of revolutionary equipment. Medical professionals had the opportunity today to test their skills on the new "da Vinci" robot. It is designed to perform minimally invasive surgeries. Doctors are excited to have the new technology at their fingertips.

"It is going to provide us the best technology we have to try and perform a wide range of complicated abdominal operations as minimally invasively as possible. We can make smaller incisions and get people feeling better faster and on with their life," Dr. Tage Haase said.

The Medical Center will have two da Vinci's once this robot is installed. They will be the first in Kentucky to have the "Xi" model. It is estimated the equipment will be ready to use in August.
