Leo Piercey may be the luckiest man in Bowling Green. He was the winning ticket in the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. Unfortunately Leo and his wife Linda were out running errands when the ticket was drawn. Their phone began ringing non-stop and didn't believe what people were saying.
"I thought they were joking I couldn't believe it and a matter of fact I even thanked them for calling and waited until I got a second call before I even investigated," says Leo.
A look of shock was still on their face at the Dream Home, that is until other family members arrived. Those other families members also have a piece of the new home as the winning ticket was split between them.
"I was at Sams and my mom called and told me and I didn't believe her I thought she was mixed up and we won a gift certificate or something so I didn't believe her until everyone else started calling me and texting me too," says Laurie McCombs.
Both families say purchasing a Dream Home ticket wasn't all about winning. They have been supporting St. Jude for years.
"It's important that people help with the children and things of that nature," says Leo.
"St. Jude is amazing we are partners in hope, we donate every month and then she has worked at the radio-a-thon that the local radio station puts one every year," says McCombs.
As for which family member will move into the brand new house, it's still up for grabs.
"We don't know yet. We are still in shock. We didn't think we would win anyway," says the family.
