A memorial service will be held Wednesday at the Capitol for Mike Haydon, one of Gov. Steve Beshear's top aides, who died Sunday at his home in Springfield.
The 62-year-old Haydon had been Beshear's chief of staff for the past two years. Before that, he was the governor's legislative liaison.
Beshear said he felt it appropriate to hold a memorial in the Capitol, which he described as Haydon's home away from home during his years of government service.
Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. EDT in the Capitol Rotunda. The memorial service will begin at 3:30 p.m.
Another visitation will be held at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Dominic Church in Springfield.
