Minimum Wage

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Senate is expected today to reject President Barack Obama's increase in the federal minimum wage.

The bill would gradually boost the $7.25 hourly minimum to $10.10 over 30 months.

But Republicans are opposed to the bill, saying lawmakers should focus on bills that would create jobs. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
