MAYFIELD, Ky. (AP) — A western Kentucky woman has been arrested after police say she passed out on the side of a narrow road with her 1-year-old child nearby in a stroller.
Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon told The Paducah Sun several cars nearly hit the woman and her child Thursday night. Redmon says Trina Cruse was in possession of Xanax at the time of her arrest.
Chief Deputy Davant Ramage says social services interviewed Cruse. The grandparents were called to care for the child.
Cruse was being held at the Graves County Jail on a $5,000 bond, and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, public intoxication, tampering with physical evidence, third-degree possession of a controlled substance and having a prescription-controlled substance not in the proper container. Jail records did not list an attorney.
