Money Raised from Spellabration Beats Last Year's Numbers


“We were able to raise about $10,000, which is great for us. The number is actually up from last year and you know everything we raise goes back into our after school programs," said Emily Ulber, Community Education Communications Coordinator.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky (WBKO) -- Community Education's ninth annual Spellabration brought out almost 200 people last Friday night. Eighteen businesses and organizations competed in this adult spelling bee.

Money raised by the event will go toward purchasing high tech walkie talkies for the staff and also funds one on one aids for students with special needs.

“We were able to raise about $10,000, which is great for us. The number is actually up from last year and you know everything we raise goes back into our after school programs," said Emily Ulber, Community Education Communications Coordinator.

Community Action group were the winners of Spellabration.
