Morgantown Names New Police Chief

Morgantown officially named a new police chief Monday night, Charles Swiney

City officials said he had an excellent interview, and he's done a good job for them as an officer the past few months.

Swiney replaces Chief JR Wilkins, who had been serving on an interim basis after Billy Phelps retired last July.

Swiney previously served as a Kentucky State Trooper.

The matter was decided by city officials in a closed session tonight.
