Morgantown will swear in a new police chief Monday.
At one point this summer, city officials considered turning Morgantown's policing duties over to the Butler County Sheriff's Office.
They have selected former Bowling Green Assistant Chief, J.R. Wilkins, to be their Interim Chief.
Wilkins retired from BGPD in March 2007 after serving 20 years.
He has since become a private investigator and an instructor at Daymar College in Bowling Green.
Wilkins replaces Morgantown Police Chief Billy Phelps.
He will officially be sworn in at 10:00 AM Monday in Morgantown's city hall.
