BOWLING GREEN, Ky (WBKO) -- The National Corvette Museum's Motorsports Park has begun laying the foundation for it's track.
Workers started pouring the base layer of asphalt yesterday. Nearly two-point-five miles of the first layer is complete.
The track is just over three miles long and is expected to be completely poured by late June.
"This is an exciting time for us. It's an exciting time for Bowling Green. We're getting more and more interests now. It's amazing looking at our Facebook page, when we announced we started paving,” said Mitch Wright, NCM Motorsports General Manager.
The park's grand opening is scheduled for Labor Day weekend.
