New Company Breaks Ground in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Governor Steve Beshear and several local officials broke ground today on a new automotive aluminum production facility.

The Constellium UACJ Body in White Plant is a Japanese and European partnership will supply 100 thousand metric tons of cold-rolled aluminum coils.

These will be treated and processed in Bowling Green.

Chamber officials say the joint venture will create 80 new jobs and the plant is being designed for future expansion.

"These people bring a new product to Bowling Green and help their product line to grow worldwide from right here in south central Kentucky," said Warren County Judge-Executive Mike Buchanon.

The plant will produce finished aluminum body sheets for the North American automotive industry in response to the growing need for aluminum in automotive manufacturing.
