A western Kentucky community has dedicated a new veterans' memorial.
The Messenger reports several hundred people attended the ceremony Wednesday in Madisonville.
The memorial includes a ribbon-shaped walk leading to a wall and a display of flags representing the U.S., Madisonville and Kentucky. A large granite rock inscribed Veterans Memorial is near plaques and flags recognizing every branch of the military — the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.
Officials say the total cost of the project was about $250,000. Several veterans said it was a worthwhile project.
