KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Knox County Sheriff's deputy says a man arrested this week may have broken into more than 300 cars in the area over the last two months.
Lt. Steve Webb says 24-year-old Aaron Tyler Estes is thought to have burglarized vehicles in Knox, Anderson and Loudon counties with an unidentified accomplice taking part in at least some of the break-ins.
Webb told the Knoxville News Sentinel the accomplice had been in jail for 10 days prior to Estes' arrest, and had told detectives he had been breaking into cars with a man named Aaron but didn't know his last name.
Deputies arrested Estes on Wednesday morning.
Estes is being held in the Knox County Detention Facility in lieu of $41,000 bond. Jail records did not list an attorney.
