CALHOUN, Ky. (AP) -- One person is dead after a small plane crashed near a private airstrip in western Kentucky.
Officials said a search party was assembled Sunday night after the plane took off from the airstrip in McLean County to get fuel in nearby Hopkins County, but didn't make it.
Emergency management officials told the station that the plane's wreckage was found within a mile of the airstrip near Calhoun.
The name of the victim wasn't immediately released.
Federal investigators are expected to arrive at the scene on Monday.
