"Over Fifty Citizen's Academy" Will Be Later This Month

By Lauren Forsythe |

The City of Bowling Green is offering it's first Over Fifty Citizen's Academy.

The city is looking for 50 people over 50, who are interested in an inside look of the city government.

Applicants will get an inside look of places like City Hall, the Police and Fire Departments, and Parks and Recreation.

Neighborhood Services says this is also a chance for the city government to get some feedback and ideas from the citizens of Bowling Green.

"We're hoping to maybe introduce them to some resources and programs that they didn't know were available, and to also get some feedback on some ideas for our community as well," says Karen Foley, Neighborhood Services Coordinator for the City of Bowling Green.

You can apply for the Over Fifty Citizen's Academy by going online to www.bgky.org/neighborhoods/resources.php , or by calling neighborhood services at 393-3674.

The class will be daily October 22-26

Applications are due by Oct. 15.
