OWENSBORO, Ky. (WBKO) -- A Daviess County man was arrested on charges related to child exploitation after Kentucky State Police served a search warrant at his Owensboro home on Tuesday.
KSP says James Christopher Payne, 25, is charged with 1,172 counts of Possession of Matter Portraying a Sexual Performance by a Minor, which is a class D Felony. He was also charged with one count of Possession of Marijuana and one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Troopers say Payne was arrested without incident at 9:36 Tuesday morning by the Kentucky State Police ICAC Task Force.
KSP says Payne was arrested as a result of an undercover investigation into the possession of images of child sexual exploitation.
Detectives seized evidence that was being used to possess child pornography and was taken to the Kentucky State Police forensic laboratory for further examination.
He is at the Daviess County Detention Center without bond.
Kentucky State Police is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC).
