An arrest has been made in an October murder in Bowling Green.
Joseph Paul Walker, 29, has been arrested for the murder of Demarcus Elliott, 34.
Walker is accused of gunning down Elliott in his car on Victoria St. on October 9th.
Elliott's family is asking for justice to be served.
"This is good news right here. They finally charged someone for murdering my brother," Elliott's sister, Cynthia Stockton says.
"I just want them to do with him whatever they have to do, but I want him to get some time for murdering my son," says mother, Jean Elliott.
Joseph Walker appeared in court for arraignment earlier today.
Walker has been charged with murder, assault, 1st degree and wanton endangerment.
Commonwealth Attorney, Chris Cohron says Elliott and Walker got into an argument, which later led to shots fired.
Elliott's sister says the argument was over a game of dice.
"He was starting to change his life around. In fact, he was talking about getting married either this month or next month. And he settled down a lot," Jean says.
"I talked to him a lot, but I didn't get to see him as much as I would have liked to," Cynthia says.
Demarcus Elliott's family, including his 6-year-old son, are left with only memories.
"It's so awful I feel so bad for my nephew. I know he misses his daddy. He hurts me just knowing," Cynthia says.
The Commonwealth Attorney's office says there are several things to be discussed before this case goes to trial.
"During this time, my office will provide all the discovery, all the information in the case to Mr. Walker's defense council. We anticipate there will be several pre-trial conferences coming up over the next few months," Chris Cohron says.
Elliott's sister is asking for violence to stop, before someone else loses a family member.
"These guys out there on the street, they need to get their lives together, because nothing good is going to happen there," she says.
Walker will appear in court again on January 22nd.
