PADUCAH, KY (AP) -- A young Paducah man charged with fatally shooting a 3-year-old boy in his care, has entered a guilty plea.
The Paducah Sun reports Nicholas Barbee was originally charged with manslaughter, in the death of Braydion Matlock on Feb. 9, but pleaded guilty Thursday in McCracken Circuit Court, to a charge of reckless homicide.
Barbee was caring for Matlock, the son of his girlfriend, Maria Lopez, when the shooting occurred.
Barbee told police he accidentally shot the boy.
