Pain Clinic Doc Has License Revoked in Kentucky

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- The Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure has revoked the license of a doctor who worked at a now-closed southern Indiana pain clinic.

Dr. Lea Ann Marlow also worked at a pain clinic in Georgetown, Ky., last year before moving to the Jeffersonville center.

The Courier-Journal reports Marlow did not appear at the Kentucky board's hearing last month. The license-revocation notice was issued on May 2.

Marlow remains suspended in Indiana, where the Attorney General filed a complaint in December saying Marlow wrote more than 8,000 prescriptions for 3,489 patients in Kentucky and Indiana during 2012. The complaint says 95 percent of the prescriptions were for the painkiller oxycodone.

The Indiana clinic only took cash from customers and didn't accept insurance.

Marlow has 30 days to appeal the license revocation.
