Law enforcement officials say a southeastern Kentucky couple have been found dead at their home just hours before the funeral for their son, who was killed in a wreck.
The Pulaski County sheriff's office told the Lexington Herald-Leader that 54-year-old Billy Eugene Baugh and 53-year-old Shirley Baugh were found dead Wednesday at their Somerset home.
The sheriff's office said in a statement that family members told investigators that the Baughs were having a hard time after the death Sunday of 27-year-old Clarence Baugh, possibly contributing to the shootings.
Investigators said Billy Baugh apparently shot his wife with a handgun before turning the gun on himself.
Lt. Brett Whitaker said a family member who stopped by at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday found the bodies. Clarence Baugh's funeral was scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday.
