Parking Closed on Square Friday for Idol Auditions

In preparation for the American Idol auditions Friday there will be no parking on the square on the Park Row and Main Ave. sides. That will go into effect at 2 a.m. Friday. All vehicles must be removed from the area at that time.

Officials say they are not concerned about the parking situation.

"Downtown parking is not an issue. We've now had multiple events taking place at multiple venues on evenings and weekends and there is lots of on-street parking," said Bowling Green area Convention and Visitor Bureau's Marissa Butler.

If space runs out on other streets in the area, you can park for free in the new parking garage or the grass lot on 8th Ave. near Bowling Green Ball Park and SKyPAC.
