UPDATE: Pedestrian Dies After Getting Hit By Train In Bowling Green

UPDATED 10:05 AM BOLWING GREEN, Ky (WBKO)-- Police say the man killed in Sunday's accident was 40-year-old Jamie Robert Matchinske of Bowling Green.

BGPD is still working to find out why he was on the tracks before he was hit.

BGPD said they received a call Sunday morning around 6:55 AM from CSX saying a body was on the tracks near the crossing close to Four Winds on Louisville Road.

Police said they found the body of a 40 year old white male who was hit by the train.

Police said they can't release the name of the man until they reach the family.

The investigation is focusing on why the man was on the railroad tracks before being hit by the train.

The body is being taken to Louisville for an autopsy.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Bowling Green Police said a man was killed after being hit by a train around 7 AM Sunday morning.

Police describe the man as a middle aged white male.

Police said the incident happened just off Louisville Road, not far from the intersection of Louisville Road and Old Louisville Road.

Police have not released the name of the victim.

The incident is still under investigation.
