BOWLING GREEN, Ky (WBKO) -- Fairy tales are coming to life on the Hill, as a real life Peter Pan is learning how to fly!
Cast members from “Peter Pan, The Musical” are preparing for their debut performance this weekend.
There are two different casts, demanding two separate Peter Pans. Two girls fulfill Peter Pan's role and both received flight choreography training. The sixty cast members have rented professional touring scenery along with the flying rig.
This is the annual collaboration with WKU's Kelly Autism Program. Half of all proceeds will go straight to the KAP.
"We have a great deal of Kelly Autism kids in our cast and that has been an amazing experience. It just gives them an outlet in theater and I think all of us feel that way. I have really enjoyed having them in the cast," said Mallory Hudson, Peter Pan.
"I'm really excited for the audience to see us fly. I just want to make people's day. I want to make them happy. I want to make them want to come back for more," said Abby Murphy, Peter Pan.
A majority of the cast consists of students from Bowling Green Independent Schools and Warren County Schools.
