Pink Bats Coming Out for Mother's Day

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Hundreds of Major League baseball players will go to the plate with hot pink bats this Sunday to celebrate Mother's Day and raise money to fight breast cancer.

Louisville Slugger has been making the bats and will donate them for the event. The Courier-Journal reports players will autograph the bats after their games.

The used bats will be collected and authenticated by Major League Baseball, then auctioned on MLB.com. Net proceeds are to go to MLB Breast Cancer Charities.

Louisville Slugger is also selling personalized pink bats to the public at http://www.sluggergifts.com and http://www.MLB.com. MLB Breast Cancer Charities will receive $10 from the sale of each pink Louisville Slugger bat.
