City police chiefs from all over the state are meeting here in Bowling Green this week at the annual "Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police Training Conference."
As Dawson Springs Police Chief Bill Crider tells us the conference isn't only for training, it helps police prepare for major campaigns like "Drive Sober, Don't Get Pulled Over."
"Highway safety is a big part of our conference. They have boothes set up here, they have highway safety trailers set-up here, and safety is a big part of what the police chiefs do and emphsize across the state," Chief Crider says.
The "Drive Sober, Don't Get Pulled Over" campaign takes effect Labor Day weekend.
Its purpose is to keep drunk drivers off the road to reduce highway fatalities.
