LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Police are investigating after a 3-year-old Lexington girl who was reported missing was found unresponsive at home and later died.
Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts told the Lexington Herald-Leader (http://bit.ly/QPZKBy) officers and firefighters responded Wednesday to a report of a child who had been missing for about 30 minutes. Roberts says a firefighter located the unresponsive child, who was rushed to University of Kentucky hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police Lt. Mario Russo said it was too soon to say what might have caused the child's death.
