UPDATE: Police Locate Muhlenberg Co. Jail Inmate Who Escaped

On Tuesday at approximately 5:05 p.m., Kentucky State Police say they conducted a traffic stop in Central City on a vehicle in which Anthony W. Hunt, the escaped inmate, was a passenger.

Hunt was taken into custody without incident and is in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.

He is charged with Escape in the 2nd Degree.

State police say they are looking for an inmate who walked away from a work detail in western Kentucky.

Police say 27-year-old Anthony Wayne Hunt was on release from the Muhlenberg County Detention Center on Monday to work at the Opportunity Center in Greenville when he disappeared. Police say his jail-issued orange jumpsuit was found in the restroom at the center where he was working.

Police describe Hunt as a white male with brown hair and blue eyes, who stands 5-foot-9 and weighs about 211 pounds.
