Police Looking Into the Death of a 4-Month-Old Baby

Detectives in Adair County are investigating the death of a 4-month-old baby.

Police say at about 11:45 this morning they received a call from the Adair County Coroner, Todd Akin, telling them the infant had been taken to the Westlake Hospital by EMS after the baby stopped breathing.

The child was pronounced dead at the hospital.

An autopsy is scheduled for early Thursday morning.
