BOWLING GREEN, KY (WBKO) -- Bowling Green Police say Leland B. Neal, Junior has been captured in Mexico.
He is accused of murdering his estranged wife, Carol Neal in 1998. Back then, Bowling Green Police received a call from a man saying his friend, Carol Neal, was missing. When police arrived, they found a large amount of blood in the home.
In 2003, artifact hunters discovered a partial skull in the Daniel Boone National Forest. A forensic examination determined it was Carol Neal's skull.
Over time, Bowling Green Police detectives were able to name Leland Neal, Junior as a suspect, and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Six days ago Bowling Green Police learned Neal was in custody in Mexico on an unrelated charge. Neal has now been extradited back to the United States.
