BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO)-- Police say six young men were asleep in their home on High Street , but awakened unexpectedly.

Around 1:30 this morning, authorities say four men forced entry into the backdoor of the home.

"From what we understand from the victims is, they were all asleep when they heard a loud crash or a loud banging in the rear of the residence," said Ronnie Ward, Bowling Green Police.

Police say the six residents were awakened by the suspects demanding money from each of them.

"They were able to describe the suspects. There were three black males and one white male. They all had masks or bandanas covering their faces," said Ronnie Ward, Bowling Green Police.

Police cannot confirm if any items were stolen from the home, but the suspects did not leave without turmoil.

"We located a victim inside of the residence that had been shot. We cleared the residence to make sure there were no other suspects inside," said Ronnie Ward, Bowling Green Police.

Police say the gunshot victim was flown to an area hospital and treated for his injuries. Police say all suspects had fled the scene upon their arrival.

"The victims told us that they saw the suspects vehicle parked in the rear of the residence. After the robbery, the suspects all got in that car and then they left. They left through the alley behind the house," said Ronnie Ward, Bowling Green Police.

Police have not been able to locate any suspects at this time and confirm this is an ongoing investigation.
Authorities confirm at least two of the other residents suffered minor injuries. The condition of the gunshot victim is unknown at this time.
