NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Nashville police have arrested a convicted sex offender after officers reported spotting the man in the passenger seat of an ice cream truck.
The Tennessean reported that Larry Lawrence Frierson registered as a violent sex offender in 2006 after he was convicted of two counts of attempted aggravated sexual battery of a 4-year-old boy. Police say officers monitoring Frierson earlier this month saw him in a green and blue van selling ice cream.
Police arrested Frierson Monday morning and charged him with pursuing illegal employment for a convicted sex offender and with violating the sex offender registry for a second time. He remained in jail Tuesday morning on a $15,000 bond
Jail records did not list an attorney for Frierson.
