Police Step Up Security at SOKY Fair

After several people reported being attacked outside of the southern Kentucky fairgrounds police are stepping up.

Bowling green police have set up a "stop detail" to make extra officers more visible.

Police say two men were attacked by a group of 20 teenagers in the parking lot Monday night.

They say since the increase in patrols ... They have not had any problems.

"Their job is just to be posted outside of the fairgrounds just to make sure that, first of all we're seen, and hopefully that will eliminate possible problems," says Officer Ronnie Ward with Bowling Green Police.

The fair has also hired private security guards to patrol inside the fair.

Fair officials say the grounds are safe for everyone to enjoy.
